AMMONAL

Ammonal is an Italian Melodic Death Metal band, founded in 2008 by Renzo and Leo, respectively the bass player and the guitarist of the Melodic Death Metal band EarthFlame. After a while the guitarist Andrea joined them and together they started to work at the new project. After some months and some line up changes, Leo became also the singer of the band and in February 2009 the keyboarder Federico joined the line up. By now ready for the recording of the first demo, Ammonal is still looking for a right drummer for the project and is still composing new songs, as ever inspired by Melodic Death, but not shut up by traditional standards of the genre. In October 2009, after a long search, the drummer Moreno finally joins the band and in April 2010 Ammonal records the first demo:“Beginning The End Of Everything”. The band is actually looking for a label and it will play live as much as possible.

Plunge headlong into a genre-like Melodic Death Metal is not easy. First we go to join a mass group of biblical proportions, threatening to fall into anonymity (Music and nominal), then we should reckon with the power of the band from the cold North, and as coldly, holding the scepter of those that (at least so it seems) really know how to play the melodic Death.

This is another sore point: the incredible and growing number of bands bearing the title of Melodic Death Metal is almost deduct a certain ease in playing this kind, the reasons could be many. I believe that instead of playing melodic death metal is all 'but simple.

One reason that convinces me that this is melodic death is a generally very eclectic and seems willing to forfeit all influences from world music, many bands are an opportunity to take in everything you hear: ill. This attitude, if you wish to call it, determines the insidious and difficult (in the case of Ammonal see "Fucking Blues" trivial and extremely childish).

The Milanese Ammonal are unfortunately not able to avoid this trap.

On their debut album presenting with "Beginning The End Of Everything", 6 tracks for 34 minutes of bitter-Melodic Death Metal who suffer from the 'inexperience and immaturity, art, the components themselves.

The tracks, although they contain good ideas and solutions, in many cases guilty of infantilism: eg keyboard intro of "Beginning The End Of Everything," too symphonic, and in some cases and intrusive; exact same problem with "endocrine Of Submission" , "I Bleed" in many passages seem to go even beyond death metal band to go and render more distinctly black symphony, the excessive breakdown also present in almost all tracks.

To not get bogged down in tedious track by track I would report "Final War", "You'll Never See, You'll Never Know" as the best moments and most relevant of all the 'album.

Unfortunately, we can not say that the evidence before the trial Ammonal is a remarkable, but even that evidence is entirely negative, a band of boys who have matured and, as it should be, must find his own musical path , in the end we are just beginning. So what is a vote of Ammonal waiting, hoping that the good things in this work proved to be harnessed and made to germinate.

EFFECT MURDER

Effect Murder was set up by guitarist Johnny (ex- Via Mistica) joined by Bzyk (drums) and Konrad (vocal). The trio debuted with a mini-album ‘Pathology Of Society’, recorded in Bialystok’s Hertz studio in 2001. The album was self-released and limited to 500 copies, and its content received numerous positive reviews both in the underground and the official music press. Intensive promotion caused a huge interest in Effect Murder, resulting in first interviews and gig propositions. Music industry took notice of the album, leading to ‘Pathology Of Society’ to be re-released in 2002 as an MC split with Rectal Sludge by Acusubilis Records and again in 2004 as a CD split with Hybrid Exoneration (Redroom Records). During that time the band appeared on stage, taking part in some local gigs alongside Parricide, Incarnated, Dominium, Trauma, Vesania, Non Opus Dei and Immemorial. In the meantime two new members joined the band – second guitarist Arek and bass player Kamil. With the new line-up the works on new material began.

2007 marked the return of the band to the stage for a couple of gigs. Also, E.M. performed as the hosts of Metal Jeers Death Assault, during which the bands first ever DVD entitled ‘Death Alive’ was recorded.

The next significant step in the bands career was the recording session of a full-length album, which started in the Autumn 2008. All touring activities were put on hold and the band locked themselves in rehearsal room to fully concentrate on writing the new material. First tracks were laid in May by drummer Gregor in Bialystok’s Hertz studio. The music was recorded by Wieslawscy brothers. The rhythm guitar parts were recorded in June in Piotrek Polak’s Studnia studio. The bass parts and Stania’s vocals were recorder in August with the usage of a mini-studio No rush. Due to ‘family duties’ of guitarist Johnny the band put its activity on hold for nearly six months, and all works on the album were paused until February 2009, when the band returned to No Rush in order to record the lead guitars and polish the album off. At the end of February the mixing was done in Hertz studio, and the mastering was done by the end of May.

The album ‘Architects Of Sense’ comprises eight tracks in the vein of brutal, technical death metal with elements of grind, marking therefore the return to the artistic direction taken on the mini-album ‘Portrait Of Fanatic’ and fully developed in the new compositions. The last two years were the time of intensive work on the style and the character of the music, affected by different personalities of the musicians involved. Thanks to this ‘Architects Of Sense’ gains a new dimension, more mature and musically consistent. It is an album full of passion and finesse, brutality and musical expression, where each instrument has a special role in constituting the whole.

The best producers ( Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy – Hertz studio) and numerous friends ( Piotrek Polak – Studnia studio, Adam – No Rush studio) were involved in the recording process of the album, helping us to achieve our musical vision. There are also very special guests on the album (among others: Hal z Abused Majesty and Hermh, Przemek and Wojtek z Hellraizer, Adam No Rush studio), who enriched its content with their contributions.

PANDORA'S DAWN

In an area where no one ever expected it, all hell broke loose as PANDORA’S DAWN was founded in 2005.

Stef, Mike, Dave, Norbi and Basti, 5 guys coming from Knittelfeld, decided to share their passion in doing what they love and what they can do best – making rousing, epic and blasting music. In 2007 they recorded and released their first EP “You Should Not Wound What Can’t Be Killed” and gained a lot of fans in Austria and on “Myspace”. After playing a lot of great shows in 2007 Basti decided to leave the band due to personal reasons and Jan, former singer of “Mondocane” took over the mic.

In early 2008 the guys started to record the “Promo CD 2008” for promotional purposes, but after a while Norbi decided to part ways with the band, as he didn’t want to keep on making music anymore. In the same month Stef, Mike and Dave made the decision to replace Jan as well.

In summer 2008 the band found their new members, when Matthias, former singer of “Give ‘em Blood”, and Ben, former Drummer of “Six Days Left” joined the band. With this perfect line up they have put the songwriting to a higher level and in 2009 they recorded their first full – length in Vienna together with Mike Kornstorfer from “Before The Fall”. The title of the album is “Fractures In Existence” and deals with what the world has become in the age of exploitation and isolation and where this will lead mankind to. PANDORA'S DAWN already shared the stage with:

Non Serviam

Non Serviam was formed in mid 2004 with the purpose of executing perverse and blasphemous Death Metal, initially consisting of only two entities: Nebrios / Guitar and Apollyon / Battery (insane founders) tested in a clandestine manner sonatas to death by space two years and "Rehearsal 2005" was vomited ... After a few months Benedikktion (Ex-Common Grave) was recruited into the murky bass ...
After the band was completed with the right people to record the subjects had, so in August of 2006 the band enters studio to record their debut EP, entitled "Rebellion" first blasphemy consists of 5 tracks + intro + live tracks (Out of print now) ...

After problems with the alignment (drums), We, the trilogy curse, decides to only people from sitting, so the band started with the tests, the band played some gigs and recorded "Bootleg" (recorded in the city of Puno - Peru 31/10/2008) and vomited into the world by 2009.

In 2009 new tracks were recorded and the same year came the breakthrough Single "Ens Adtartaros" before recording "empire Tyrant" LP recording that will eject the first days of 2010

Absence Of The Sun

Absence of the Sun is made up of a group of talented musicians that started their journey in the winter of 2005, but did not take on their full strength until 2007, when their unbeatable lineup was put together. This line up of Ned Boxer (vocals), Mark Waller (lead guitar), Matt Roma (Rhythm Guitar), Ep Ramos (Drums), Yjago Desjardins (Bass), and Gilbert Prescott (Keyboards) has already released one album that blew fans away and not only in their hometown of Portland, Maine.

A Symphony of Unheard Words was released in March 2008 and was sold until they ran out of the 1500 copies. The group debated on re-releasing and selling more but decided to go another route and may have been a good choice for them.

The same month of the release of the album the band won a contest that was voted on by fans with a local radio station, WCYY that allowed them to play at the Addroscoggin Arena in front of 2500 people.
Hard work and dedication are just two of the attributes that are helping metal band Absence of the Sun further their success. With three tours to the Midwest and Chicago and back, and five straight down the east coast to Florida and back, the band is raising their fan base and planning many more successful tours to come. With several mini tours in between the band has been able to grow interest in the band allowing them to be releasing another album soon.

In January of 2010 this band took their talent and recorded with Ken Susi of Unearth. This melodic metal will soon be released for free online for all fans to enjoy. The band who wants their fans to love music as much as they do, wanted to share something with them and show them that its about the passion. The energy and intensity that they bring to the stage is sure to come through this album as well to impress metal fans from all over.

Vengeance shall be found in the name of Canberra's Infinitum. Those smoldering, deathly ashes where the residual cores disseminated by two of Canberra's most carnal death metal acts. One half, one of Australia's pioneering death metal bands Psychrist, and the other, Dehuman. With both bands playing together in Canberra frequently, friendships and alliances where forged over time, and soon after the dissolution of Psychrist, those associations where amalgamated. The procreation was not confined to any specific subject matter, nor restrained by stylistic limitations, alas; the name Infinitum was innate, 2005.

In 2006, a pro-pressed self titled, 3 track demo was recorded and dispersed. 500 copies where pressed, leaving a mere 30 left to this date. The initial lineup included the brutish gurgling of Wes Roth (Psychrist) on vocals. Not long after the release of the demo, however, Wes moved interstate and Damien Ferrari (Dehuman) was drafted into the void. Natural interest in the collaboration between these two fine bands was high and such was the impact of the demo, their first live show was an invitation to Sydney, to support brutal death metallers Disgorge (USA) in May 2006. Ironically, this was also Infinitum's first and last show with a live drummer. Since then, a drum machine has been enlisted until such further time as a replacement can be found.

Acting as main support for Psycroptic in Canberra late 2008, whilst also headlining their own shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra, 2009 sees the band continuing to grow steadily from strength to strength. Over the last few months their live front has slightly diminished, while the band once again knuckles down to the rigors of the writing process. With four to five new songs sketched, the band plans to have another full lengths worth of material ready by the end of 2009.

It is now too late to run. Oxygen has evaporated from the air, the heat has torched your shadow, and you're left their writhing, blistering, and pustulating with Infinitum branded across your body.

VENOMED

Slamming Brutal Death From Yogyakarta,INDONESIA
Damn! ... Local bands that have sprung up many skills and musicality above average on this one band called aja, Venomed founded in 2008 in Yogyakarta was carried slamming brutal death metal with the formation Benny; Vocal, Rizky; Guitar, Roy; Drum , & Robby; Bass. although they are still new in the world numbered metal music but I'd bet big hope that this band can compete with the fierce & cruel to other metal bands. May 2009 months ago, they've just released a demo contains three tracks gokil and did not deny their music plus strange sort of brutality, a good response they received among many music lovers Indonesia extreme metal, especially death metal. and until the end of the demo three songs they ever released by Metal Thai from Thailand, who had dared to tear Venomed music to music lovers of Thailand, a pride! Venomed be collaborating with other bands in 4 Way Split Entry with Defiated Supreme Sanity (Germany), Moonfog (Slovakia), Splattred Orgasm (Thailand). besides they continue to participate in testing the planned end of the year 2009 compilation Venomed try to release a full album
and is currently in production phase.

PARASITE INC

In 2007, formed Kai (guitar / vocals), Benjamin (Drums), Benedict (guitar) and Patrick (bass) joined the band "Parasite Inc.". In the following months were the guys with appearances with Hackneyed, Apophis or Bleeding Red earn a good reputation as a professional and technically impressive live band.
Parasite Inc. Nationwide made by shows such as the SWAT-Festival in Stuttgart attention. In 2009, then followed the appearance at the "What to Death II" festival in Abtsgmünd on which they shared the stage with bands like Heaven Shall Burn or freezing rain.

Motivated by the consistently positive responses to their shows, boarded Parasite Inc. in 2009, then the studio to einzuspielen her debut, which on 25 December has been released. Paddi simultaneously recite the band to devote himself more to the organizational side of music and was replaced by Basti.
Musically, offers the young band modern Melodic Death Metal, but should not be worry about genre boundaries. Melodic guitar solos alternate with groovy parts, typical Death Metal sounds mixed with modern elements. The varied song structures prove that the guys understand their craft very well and also do not have to hide from older colleagues.

TRAUMA

Formed on August 18, 1992 in Jakarta, the nation's capital; TRAUMA has been proving themselves as one of the oldest Indonesian death metal leaders that still exists today. TRAUMA is recognized as a leading example of deep visualization of songwriting, wicked playing skill and a ground-breaking arrangement to death.

In 1997, TRAUMA's first demo “Incomplete Damnation” been released. Next in 1998, TRAUMA released a full length album “Extinction of Mankind” through a local indie label; MORBID NOISE RECORDS. One year later, this album then has been licensed exclusively by PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT [a supported Malaysian label from PONY CANYON] that intended for market in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Furthermore in 2000, a Chicago, US' label; OWL RECORDS licensed this album for wider markets as well.

In the same year, PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT released a split album of TRAUMA and UNVEILED [Malaysia] for worldwide market. In 2002, a local label; EXTREME SOUL PRODUCTION released a split album for TRAUMA and AGATHOCLES [a legendary Belgian mince core band] titled “Death Metal vs. Mince Core”. In the same year also, a Netherlands' label; MANGLED STEW RECORDS merging TRAUMA along with their local band; TUMOUR, in a split album titled “Death Metal vs. Gore Grind”. Subsequently, this Holland-based label then had released 4 ways split album that includes 4 bands: TRAUMA [Indonesia], PLANKTON, SANGUINARY and INTUMESCENE [the rests are from Netherlands].

This far, TRAUMA has been involved in more than 50 album compilation titles that have been released by labels in Indonesia and overseas, such as: France, US, Australia, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Thailand, Mexico and many others. There's one of the biggest Indonesian underground compilation titled “Metalik Klinik”. TRAUMA appeared on Vol. 1 in 1997 and Vol.5 in 2003. This Rotorcorp/MUSICA's production is has been sold over than 100.000 albums.

Afterward, TRAUMA also had tagged along in a compilation titled “Panggilan Pulau Puaka” [Vol. II and III] under PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT. It is said that this album was a most recognized in Malaysia in 2000-2001. PONY CANYON also involved TRAUMA in a compilation CD titled “METAL KLASIK Malaysia vs. Indonesia”.

Several TRAUMA's songs have been number 1 in some rock chart in local I-Radio that put TRAUMA's song; “Pelangi Hitam” [June, 2002] on the top. This position even hung on for 5 weeks. TRAUMA showed up on interview pages as well, such as fanzine, underground magazine around Indonesia and overseas even on more mainstream press.

TRAUMA's albums had given big positive responses from heaps of label/magazine in overseas, for instance: RELEAPSE [USA], BRUTALIZED [USA] even Max Cavalera [SEPULTURA/SOULFLY] also commented TRAUMA's songs in e-mail. TRAUMA always perform their best and try to be themselves without being a ‘follower' or ‘fake' from other great death metal bands in overseas that had given TRAUMA such great influences.

Finally on March 26, 2003, TRAUMA released their second full length album under KROSSOVER Records/MUSICA; titled “Paradigma: Demi Hidup Tak Perlu Harus Mati” with 11 songs in total. This album had been sold more than 10.000 units in the first 2 weeks. Video clip from this album, “Api dalam Otak” also often appeared on MTV Indonesia in 2003.

Next 4 months after, an indie label EDELWEISS Production released TRAUMA's autobiography book called “Dimensi Paradigma”. It was written by Nino Aspiranta, TRAUMA's vocalist, about the whole journey of TRAUMA from 1992 until 2003 completely.

Based on heaps of request, on December 2004, right after 6 years since “Extinction of Mankind” that had been released in 1998; VARIANT MUSIC INDONESIA [VMI] with distribution support from ALFA RECORDS decided to re-release this album, including 1 bonus unreleased track. With the brand new cover and look, TRAUMA's anthem ”Human Suffering” had a video clip done as well. Then this would be the third video clip after ”Penjara Dendam” [METALIK KLINIK II – 2002] and ”Api dalam Otak” [Paradigma, Demi Hidup Tak Perlu Harus Mati – 2003].

Lastly, with the current line-up: growl X scream: Nino Aspiranta [Nino], lead X rhythm guitar: Heilla Tanissan [Hella], bass: Rusdi Hamied [Rusdi] and drums: Ramadhani Utomo [Dhani]. TRAUMA now is having their third full length album released: DOMINASI KEMENANGAN out in November 2008 by ROXANA777 Records and distributed by RnB. This long-awaited album is now available in all of Indonesia's music stores.
